How long would you want to participate in a game of sport if you didn't know your role, the goal or the scores along the way?

You can have a great strategy and the best people, but sustained levels of high growth can only be achieved through understanding the good habits that must be in place to enable great execution of your plans.

If you answer "no" or "not good enough" as you consider the following questions then your growth potential is being limited:

  • Do you and your people regularly take time out to review the progress of your strategy?

  • Is the company's #1 Objective for the quarter clearly defined?

  • Does each department have a 90-day plan, with 3-5 Rocks (priorities) aligned to the company's quarterly priorities?

  • Are your plans, goals and scores clearly visible?

  • Does information move quickly and accurately through your organisation?

  • Does every employee own a number that represents their contribution to the company's goals?

  • Is every employee involved in some kind of high-energy daily meeting to avoid bottlenecks and report their scores/progress/wins?

  • Do you understand how the key drivers and metrics that are measured and grown ensure your continued growth?

  • Do you know the actions to take to increase and grow the key numbers?

I used to measure the success of our practice on turnover and profit... Over the years of working together, Hayley has pushed me to focus on growing our cash, which is great as it means I'm now able to fund our growth through our own reserves.
