Bayfields News Managing Director of Bayfields Opticians Royston Bayfield recognises the work he has done with High Flyers as his business soars.

The work I have done with Hayley has given me the ability to be more focused as a business leader and to concetrate on building a world class team for the future growth of our company.

Leeds-based Bayfields Opticians has confirmed the acquisition of two further sites, buying the Horsforth and Kirkstall branches of Alison James Opticians. The latest acquisitions take the total number of Bayfields practices up to seven – putting the group firmly on track to achieve its ambitious business plan to have 50 practices by 2025. Royston Bayfield, Optometrist and Managing Director of Bayfields Opticians said: “We are thrilled with the latest acquisitions. Horsforth has long been an area of interest to us as it will work in synergy with our Yeadon and Headingley branches. The Kirkstall business is a really exciting opportunity too - it has been an opticians for 100 years and thus has a lot of heritage.”

Bayfields also has premises in Headingley, Yeadon, Pontefract, Wakefield and at the University of Leeds. They have been awarded Best Optical Health provider at the 2012 Leeds Therapy Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 at the Business Excellence Forum and have been shortlisted this year for the Opticians Awards. The group will be retaining staff at the Horsforth and Kirkstall sites, taking the total number of employees at Bayfields to 43. Added Royston: “Our plan is to invest in our latest practices, both in terms of staff and technology, whilst continuing to work with Shulmans Solicitors and Yorkshire Bank to acquire other suitable businesses in order to develop a strong Yorkshire brand.”

Practice Manager of Horsforth and Kirkstall David Leather added, “It’s very exciting to bring the Bayfields brand to Alison James. I am committed to continuing the outstanding service already delivered by my existing team and further cementing the long-lasting relationships built with our clients. My aim is to make every client feel like a VIP by providing world class eye care that betters lives.”

Marcus Armstrong of Shulmans Solicitors (Bayfields’ corporate lawyer), said: “Bayfields is a dynamic and inspirational company that we are delighted to work alongside in helping it to achieve its strategic plan. The group’s ongoing success is testament to the hard work and forward thinking of its management team and as such I have no doubt there will be further growth for Bayfields in the near future.”

Speaking on behalf of Yorkshire Bank, business development manager, Peter Sumners, added: “We are delighted to be able to support the Bayfields Group with its plans for growth within the Yorkshire market.
